Is Lightning Lane Worth It at EPCOT? Ride by Ride
Is Lightning Lane worth it at EPCOT? Only a few rides build a line worth skipping. Here's ride by ride where we'd pay, with Frozen Ever After on Multi Pass and Guardians on Single Pass, and where we'd skip.
Quick Answer: Sometimes, and for two rides. EPCOT has few lines worth skipping, so we'd pay for Frozen Ever After (on Lightning Lane Multi Pass, roughly $15 to $40 a person for the day) and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (its own Single Pass, roughly $17 to $22 a ride before Disney's October 6 rise of $1 to $3 at the top). If neither is on your list, or the day is quiet, we'd skip it.
EPCOT looks like an easy Lightning Lane park. The ride list is long and the pass is cheaper than Magic Kingdom's. But a pass is only worth buying when it skips a line, and here only a handful of rides build one. The biggest of them isn't even on Multi Pass.
The rides with a line worth skipping
Using each ride's average standby wait for 2026 from Queue-Times, EPCOT splits cleanly. Guardians ran close to 70 minutes, Test Track about an hour, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure in the mid-40s and Frozen Ever After in the low 40s. Every other ride in the park, Soarin' and Mission: SPACE included, averaged under 25 minutes, and most were closer to 10.
Multi Pass costs the same whichever ride you spend a pick on, so the table ranks rides by the time a Lightning Lane saves. We count about 10 minutes in the Lightning Lane line itself, our own assumption, since Disney doesn't publish those waits.
| Ride | Pass | Avg. standby | Our call |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind | Single | 69 min | Buy it |
| Test Track | Multi | 58 min | Worth a pick |
| Remy's Ratatouille Adventure | Multi | 46 min | Worth a pick |
| Frozen Ever After | Multi | 42 min | Buy it |
| Soarin' Across America | Multi | 18 min | Skip |
| Mission: SPACE | Multi | 16 min | Skip |

Frozen is the Multi Pass ride we'd book
When we buy EPCOT's Multi Pass, it's to get Frozen Ever After. That's the honest way to use this park's pass: you're paying for one or two rides, not a full day of them. At roughly $15 to $40 a person, that's a fair trade when Frozen is someone's must-do and the day is busy, and a poor one when it's a gentle afternoon.
Frozen, Remy and Test Track all sit in the park's first group, and you can book only one first-group ride ahead of time. Book Frozen first. Touring Plans' EPCOT Multi Pass strategy (written in 2024, updated in 2025) rated same-day Frozen availability as poor, so don't plan on grabbing it once you're inside. Once you've redeemed your first selection, Disney lets you choose another in the app, subject to availability, so Remy or Test Track can still be added through the day.
Rank EPCOT's rides: the Ride Priority Planner turns your group, your park and your time into a ranked must-ride list.
Guardians is the Single Pass we'd buy
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind isn't part of Multi Pass. It's sold on its own, and it ran roughly $17 to $22 a person over the past year. On October 5, 2026, Disney's page listed it at $22, which we confirmed ourselves. On October 6, Disney raised Single Pass top prices by $1 to $3, so a busy 2027 day can land a little above that. With a wait near 70 minutes, a Single Pass saves about an hour by our math, which clears our 45-minute rule of thumb with room to spare.
If you'd rather not pay, you can try being there early if your hotel gets Early Entry. Disney lists Guardians among the EPCOT attractions planned to run then, though a short wait isn't guaranteed and the list can change. We'd keep the Single Pass for days you can't count on it. Our guide to planning a day around park hours and Early Entry covers how.
How to buy it
Everyone needs park admission for that day. Disney's Lightning Lane page says guests at Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can buy up to 7 days ahead, and everyone else up to 3 days ahead, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern. A Multi Pass holds three picks at a time, and you can add up to two Single Passes a day in the same checkout.
Premier Pass, which covers every EPCOT ride once, ran roughly $160 to $250 before Disney raised its top price by $50. For a park where two rides carry the value, we wouldn't pay it.
So, should you buy it at EPCOT?
Buy the Guardians Single Pass on most trips, since its line runs long most days. Add Multi Pass only when Frozen, Remy or Test Track is a must-do and the crowds are up. Skip both on a quiet day, and ride the rest of the park on standby.
