Quick Answer: Disney's airport luggage transfer pilot now covers nine Walt Disney World hotels, after Coronado Springs and both Port Orleans resorts joined in October. If you're staying at one of them and flying American, JetBlue, Southwest or United on a domestic flight into Orlando International, your checked bags can skip baggage claim and meet you at the resort. The bag service is free; your ride to the resort is not, so that's still the part to price.

For years, Disney's Magical Express meant you could walk right past the baggage carousel in Orlando. It ended on January 1, 2022, and since then most families have waited at the carousel like everyone else. A smaller version of the bag half of that perk has been growing quietly as a pilot, and this month it reached a lot more families.

Which hotels and airlines qualify now

Nine Disney hotels take part as of this month:

  • Disney's All-Star Movies, All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts
  • Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Pop Century Resort
  • Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, including Gran Destino Tower
  • Disney's Port Orleans Resort, French Quarter and Riverside

Coronado Springs and the two Port Orleans resorts are the October additions. Caribbean Beach joined in August, and the pilot started at the Value resorts in 2025. Deluxe resorts aren't on the list.

The airline matters as much as the hotel. It's American, JetBlue, Southwest and United only, on domestic flights only, and only through Orlando International, though more airlines could be added soon. A company called BagCheck runs it as a pilot that can change or be canceled without notice, so look at Disney's page again a week or two before you fly.

How it compares with Magical Express

Magical Express was a free bus and a free bag service for guests at any Disney hotel. This is only the bag half, at nine hotels, on four airlines. You still have to get yourselves from the airport to the resort, and that ride is where the money goes. Our rideshare vs. Mears Connect breakdown covers which ride usually wins for a family of four.

Disney's page doesn't name a price, but Touring Plans reports the service is free. You still pay your airline's checked-bag fees as usual, and gratuities aren't included when Bell Services brings bags to your room.

Where it really helps is the first afternoon: you head straight to the resort instead of the carousel. Bags can take up to 4 hours after you land to arrive, so pack swimsuits, a change of clothes and whatever the kids need that first day in a carry-on, along with medications, electronics, perishable items and important documents.

Plan around car seats too. If you'll want one for a rideshare or private car from the airport, check it at the gate instead of sending it ahead, and tell the gate agent you'd like it back at the gate in Orlando. Strollers work the same way.

What to do when you book

Register with BagCheck any time from 30 days to 24 hours before your flight, using your Disney resort confirmation number and your airline confirmation number. Booked through a travel agent? Ask them for the Disney number. Register more than 7 days out and luggage tags come in the mail; register later and your bags are still delivered, and you track them through the link in your confirmation email.

If you change flights and get a new airline confirmation number, update your registration. If the new flight isn't on one of the four airlines, you're no longer eligible. So when two fares are close, a participating airline deserves a little extra weight.

Going home works too, and you can use it for just one direction. Check in online and pay any bag fees, then drop your bags at Luggage Assistance/Bell Services between 24 and 4 hours before your flight, with photo ID and your boarding pass. At the airport, you skip the check-in line and collect your bags when you land at home.

So, should you sign up?

If you qualify, yes. It costs nothing but a few minutes of registration, and it turns arrival day into more pool time and less carousel time. It's most useful for families landing midday who want to get to the resort fast.

It doesn't help if you're at a Deluxe resort, flying an airline that isn't on the list, or coming in on an international flight. For everyone, the ride is still the real decision: run your group through our Airport to Resort Transportation Comparison Tool before you book it.
