Frequently asked questions
Is Walt Disney World good for gluten-free eating?
Yes, it's one of the easier places to eat gluten-free on vacation, as long as you use Disney's allergy process at every meal. Tell your server or the Cast Member at the counter, and ask for the chef or a Special Diets-trained Cast Member. Many restaurants have an allergy-friendly menu, but Disney says carts and kiosks often don't, so lean on table service and quick-service counters. Our picks are in our 2027 Gluten-Free Guide.
Does Disney charge extra for gluten-free food?
We found no gluten-free surcharge. Disney's Special Dietary Requests page doesn't mention one, and the allergy-friendly menus we checked list one price per dish. Some dishes go gluten-free by leaving something out rather than swapping it, so ask what replaces the gluten.
Do I need to tell Disney about a gluten allergy before my trip?
Not for a gluten-only request: tell your server or the Cast Member at the counter when you order. Disney asks guests to email its Special Diets team ahead only when someone in the party has four or more allergy requests, needs puréed meals or follows a medically restrictive diet, after dining reservations are booked and no sooner than 14 days before arrival.
