It depends on how your group eats. The plan tends to win when you'd eat a sit-down or character meal most days anyway, order dessert and a drink with it, and use every credit. It tends to lose if you mostly eat counter-service food, skip dessert, or would leave credits unused. In 2026, free dining for kids 3 to 9 can tip it in the plan's favor for families.

Can I buy a Disney dining plan without a package?
Not on its own. Dining plans are sold as part of a vacation package that includes a Disney Resort hotel, or with a Disney Vacation Club reservation. You have to buy the plan for everyone in the party ages 3 and up, for every night of the stay. The 2026 free dining for kids offer needs a Disney Resort package that includes tickets.
How does free dining for kids work in 2026?
If you book a 2026 Disney Resort package that includes tickets and a dining plan for everyone 10 and older, kids ages 3 to 9 get the matching plan free. Packages for the offer are limited. For 2027, Disney says its plans save up to 20% on kids' dining, but that's measured against buying kids' meals without a plan, not an extra discount.
Do Disney dining plans include tips?
No. Gratuity isn't included, except at a few experiences such as Cinderella's Royal Table and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Parties of six or more are automatically charged an 18% gratuity. Budget 18 to 20% for sit-down meals either way.
